The brightest long-range beam of any headlamp under $100, this Fenix HP25 is an older light, first made more than 4 years ago, but it still is getting great reviews because 1. It’s tough. 2. The spotlight beam is brilliant.

If you want to save a little money by buying this one and not the Reactik+ Plus below, then you’ll probably be fine. This is the previous headlamp model with a somewhat different name. I’ve used mine for over a year, and love it. It also has the option to add the AAA battery pack, which I like. For those times when you won’t be close to A/C power to charge your lithium-ion rechargeable pack.

This is a very high tech light, one of Petzl’s latest, and available now in 2017. If you don’t mind spending about $100, this is a fantastic light you’ll be happy with for years. This is my personal choice out of these three lights.
